You don't have to be a canoeist to be Canadian, but it helps. The canoe is an integral part of our heritage, an essential item for many First Nations peoples, and a work of art when well made. This museum will instil all three of those facts in you, and don't be surprised if you get the urge to buy... More

This museum should be a "must see" for anyone wanting to see how this country was explored and the dangers these travelers undertook to trade and to live. This is a good day trip and a good objective for our 150th. year. Do not miss this.

I was amazed at the content and the organization involved....Supposed to be building a new home by the Peterborough Lift Locks. I do not know when. Well worth a visit.

From the moment I walked in the door, I had such a feeling of calm and isn't that exactly what padding a canoe is all about? Great staff and volunteers as well. Had the pleasure of a tour and am seriously going back to spend more time.

The kids and adults have lots of fun, very educational to see how the people traveled years ago and how they made their canoes out of a tree one solid piece of wood.
