Friends were visiting from out of town & we brought them here. It was a great experience for young and old. The kids didn’t want to leave.

What a wonderful co-incidence to have a historical re-enactment taking place the weekend we decided to visit Thunder Bay and the Fort. The staff and actors were simply amazing - quick on their feet to answer questions staying in character all the while. During the...More

Take the opportunity to visit the David Thompson Observetory and learn the theories behind the Star of Bethlehem. Hold a mars rock, see an earth rock or a test tube of moon dust. Finally, visualize the stars, all at the old Fort, Fort William Historial...More

You can spend a whole day here and not see everything. A reminder of the early fur trade days and voyageur life in early Canada.

Great family place for celebrations, entertainment, culture and history. Characters in period costumes and reenactments add value to a visit. Professional entertainment available. Good value. David Thompson Observatory and space rock collections are interesting.

At least 2 to 3 hours. Take your time, enjoy the farm and aboriginal encampment. Many buildings and stories to be told by the actors.

Sometimes there are sponsored events outside the fort by the parking areas. I would check the event schedule to see what might be happening in July. Enjoy your visit!
