For the cultural appreciation of Canada this is worth a stop. The CBC is a Canadian Icon bringing sports and news to all parts of Canada for decades. In the building there are tickets to some programming , a museum and archive. And yes there are live broadcasts. For the building design there is an amazing atrium built when every... More

Interesting to look behind the scenes of some the top television shows produced by the CBC. Definitely worth making a trip to Toronto to do the tour.

We have visited the CBC on Front many times. A modern building where the live operations of The CBC occur. Live shows that you can attend...be a part of the audience too.

I came with some family members who were visiting. We walked around the building and checked out the museum. I was a bit surprised at how small the museum was, as there surely could have been a lot more content. For a free activity, we were glad we stopped in!

The sculpture & plaque with its information are excellent to view. What an interesting man with such diverse talents. I was not familiar with his name prior to finding this tribute .

I didn't even know that the CBC had a museum until we went there to view the pop-up display/shop for the Murdoch series - which while not extensive was interesting - but seeing signs for the museum we wandered back and were quite taken by the works on display - especially all the items for sound effects.

The CBC Offices in Toronto is the biggest TV station that I have visited compared to CTV in Queen Street West and City TV in Yonge and Dundas Square. It has a huge atrium with a huge screen where you can watch CBC news program. You can also watch live taping of TV programs being filmed in CBC. The building... More

Great way to spend an hour learning about our national public broadcaster. Sit in the atrium, have a small bite to eat, take 20 minutes to go in the free CBC Museum. All free, great way to take some down time in between whatever fun you're having in the downtown core. Oh, and a few spots to charge your phone... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
