Drove my mother downtown Toronto to check out The Bay's Christmas windows and to do a little shopping. The windows this year are cute and entertaining. The Christmas tree and lighted deer are huge and wonderful. Most clerks were warm and friendly. Prices were more than we expected but figured it's downtown Toronto. What shocked us the most was the... More

I must admit I was able to find a few items in a shopping haul. I also admit I only visited about 50 percent of the mall. It is a large and spacious retail space.

Yup! You guessed it, it's a great mall for shopping! Location is great, especially for tourists. Dundas Square is just outside and the large Toronto sign within walking distance. Two subways are linked to the mall (Dundas/Queen). Any shops that aren't in the mall are just outside within walking distance ie winners (which has a cinema in same building). In... More

We were very happy to see that a new Christmas tree has been installed at the Eaton center! This is a big improvement from the last few years neon tree. This super tall tree is really a must see!

Great shopping mall! Mega xmas tree! Loads of shops/ brands to choose from. Good layout over different levels and like the alot of shops were in similar locations based on genre etc. Very clean again (as is everywhere in Toronto!) Plenty of food choices too with restaurants within the mall and the choice of eatery's downstairs. Well worth the visit!

The Eaton Centre is huge so plan for a lot of walking. There is every store and price range imaginable. It can become very crowded but flows well. Expect to spend hours here

A fairly large mall with major stores. Mall has a mix on luxury and regular stores. There are also eateries.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
