This tour is a wonderful idea for any corporate team building or appreciation events. The foods were diverse and the time spent walking and learning about the city were valuable bonding moments. The tour (Riverside and Leslieville) itself had incredible food, and the tour guide (Ian) was very knowledgeable of the surrounding history –something that enhanced the tour and the... More

While we now live in Ottawa, we did live in Toronto for over 10 years and so, when my husband told me we were going on a foodie tour of Queen Street East/Broadview area I was ambivalent. WELL - was I ever wrong!! This tour was wonderful. Ian, who led the tour had such intimate knowledge of the stories of... More

I booked the Chinatown & Kensington Market Tour for when my mom was in town visiting. While our guide himself was excelllent, as a vegetarian I wasn't overly happy with the accomidation in the food options- especially for the price. I was expecting not to have anything at the Fish Store stop in Kensington Market; however, the was little accomidation... More

We went on the St Lawrence market tour with Ian. He was engaging and knowledgable not only of the food but also the history and culture of the market and surrounding areas. There was good variety and certainly adequate quantity! Ian even helped us to arrange takeaway of the food that we couldn't finish. All in all a very pleasant... More

We've done two tours with Culinary Adventures in the past few months. Leslieville/Riverview and St Lawrence Market. Our tour guide was Ian who is personable and so knowledgeable about food and the city of Toronto. Each area he took us we had amazing food and learned a lot of history. Highly recommend for a great time and great food. We... More

I did the "Cheese and Cheers" experience held at the Black Creek Pioneer Village. "The Big Cheese" Kevin was an excellent host - funny, charismatic and easy-going. I now know more about cheese than I ever imagined! I can't wait to impress my friends with all my newfound knowledge! The experience was a great length (2.5-3hrs depending on how many... More

I took my boyfriend on this tour for his birthday and we both LOVED IT. It completely surpassed my expectations. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the food and the history of the area. We stopped for food at about 7 or 8 spots and walked from place to place. Highly recommend!

We joined the St Lawrence markets and Toronto history tour with Ian on Friday. It was out first time to Toronto and it was great to see the original city and understand how the city evolved. The coffee and food was fabulous and we left with more than we could eat. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had an excellent time during the Cheese & Cheers culinary adventure. The setting at Black Creek Pioneer Village was perfect and Kevin was just great....knowledgeable and funny. Worth way more than he charged.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
