When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and a fresh cup of hot tea. The massage area was very traditional and cozy. The massage therapist was very knowledgable and kind. Before coming in for the massage I was feeling very soar and tired, immediately after I felt much more energized and yet still relaxed. The next... More

When I walked by Urban Nirvana I could barely use my arm. My shoulder and arm were so painful that when I saw their sign I thought 'why not' try it. I walked in and asked if I could see someone. They fit me in with an amazing therapist named Liz. It was truly magical. I left a new person... More

Urban Nirvana embraces traditional Thai-style massage and has the convenience of on-site RMT trained professionals who can also give a very awesome Thai-style massage. If you've never tried it, go ahead… Satisfy the "Be open-minded" or "try something new" New Year's resolution. It's downtown on the Yonge subway line. Very convenient to get to. They're also flexible with hours of... More

My wife and I spent a week in Toronto for our one-year wedding anniversary. I planned the entire trip myself, so everything was a complete surprise for her. We have had couple’s massages in the past, so I wanted to do something with a twist to maintain the element of surprise. I came across Urban Nirvana during my research and... More

This is my main Yoga studio, currently, and I am very satisfied. Tried every class they do ... some are really innovative and original: came away happy each and every time! Their tea offerings and the conversation that goes with it is also splendid. I am not a massage fan so that is the bit I just know from hear-say,... More

Went there for Yoga on a deal and found warm, friendly, professional people dedicated to make each of your visits pleasant, interesting and generally valuable. I am still going there three or four times a week for excellent Vinyasa, Hatha or Yin sessions ... very innovative and useful to keep me in (some kind of a) shape. Have only best... More

I booked a couples massage as a treat for my wife; a risky adventure as she is demanding and never had a Thai massage before; we were blown away with how good it felt; my wife used the words perfect to describe the pressure, usually it's too hard too soft etc...Very relaxing environment and the staff were very friendly. We... More

Urban Nirvana puts your mind at ease the second you walk in the door. It has a calming atmosphere, set by music, lighting, incense and wonderful staff. The thai massage area is beautifully designed, quiet and soothing- you truly feel like you are in nirvana. I felt so relaxed after my thai massage. I have also taken a prenatal yoga... More

I had an amazing massage there and also did an Intro to Thai Massage class with my girlfriend. The Thai Massage was amazing. I'm not a very flexible person despite doing a lot of sports. I think EVERY athlete should consider Thai massage as a preventative treatment. The course was very cool as well. We learned a lot the instructors... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
