We were a group of 7 that included two boys. Good selection of beer. The boys enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries. One adult enjoyed her salad and another enjoyed his meatloaf with bacon. Three of us had the club sandwich with poutine which we enjoyed. We will return.

The first place we went to on arriving in Canada. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the Canadian speciality, 'poutine' French fries with cheese curds and gravy, surprisingly nice!

Had lunch at this location was expecting a lot more quality? The food was OK and would equate the quality to more of a roadhouse cuisine than anything else. The service was sporadic at best and could be friendlier. Ordered the Reuben sandwich, which was very good, and my companion ordered the salad but complained there was way too much... More

We visited the Elephant and Castle Pub on 2 occasions during our week long visit to the city of Toronto. The staff are welcoming and the service and food is good. It's a busy venue which has a great buzz and captures the mood of Yonge Street.

I've been coming here for years. I had stopped coming for about two years because it just wasn't good anymore. The menu wasn't good, the ingredients were sub-par, and the prices had gone up a lot. Then the owners or management changed hands, the restaurant was renovated, and the menu was changed up. It's much better now. The inside isn't... More

Hoped to enjoy a beer after the TSO concert so we when into the Elephant and Castle Pub. The bartender had to take two attempts to make my wife's gin and tonic. I tried a series of tastes of beers on tap and settled for the Kelly Pale Ale which I found close to unsinkable. perhaps the Maple leaf fan... More

We went to this restaurant prior to attending a performance in the entertainment district. We really enjoyed our meal and the service from the staff. We also found the prices reasonable.

Everything was great. The location is central to most of downtown Toronto. You could wish for more menu or draft beer variety, but I liked what they had. The service was efficient without feeling pushy.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
