Only one service running, which is fine, but managed to be 20 minutes late with no explanation. Terminal, which is due for refurbishment, looks grim and like a loading bay from the Second World War.

Went on this ferry with my mum and sis, and it was lovely. Kinda cold as most boats are, but the guide showed us all the top attractions viewable from the ferry, and its great for taking pictures from a unique perspective. It also goes to different areas not just the city front which is nice to see more peaceful... More

Plan ahead, decide which island you want to start with centre island being the most popular...the other two wards and Hanlans are just a short walk to centre island. To save time, book your ferry tickers online

I enjoyed the ferry. This is generally for the passengers from downtown area to downtown airport & free of cost.

The ferry was right on time and the transport was quick and efficient. Not much happening during the Winter, but it was a lovely walk around the beach and neighborhoods. I am sure it willl be nice nicer in the Spring and Summer.

A short ten minute ferry ride takes you to the islands. The staff are efficient and the whole operation is well run.

Any trip to the Toronto Islands requires a Ferry ride. Staff are very efficient and the ride is short and safe. Taking bicycles across was no problem

We go to the island at a dozens times a year and this is the way we get there. The nice thing is you can take your bike, stroller, wagon, pet, etc... with you on the boat something you will have trouble with on a water taxi. The boats are old but work well I would just hope there comes... More

Great way to get a view of the skyline of Toronto. Ticket lines can be really long in peak times. Take your own bike and explore the island.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
