My husband and I were so disappointed when our cruise that was to stop at Charlottetown for the day was cancelled.

We had prebooked tickets for this musical as I am a great 'Anne' fan.

Ticketpro very kindly gave us a full refund of the cost of our tickets even though they were rated as non-refundable.

When all this 'RONA' business is over or when a vaccine is available and we can travel safely again, we will be first in line to see this musical.

Thank you 'Ticketpro' and 'The Guild Theatre' for being so understanding!

we had no idea of what we were in for when we booked this play. but to our surprise it was very delightful and very nicely done... the seats are not the best and crowded, but to be honest the only time we noticed is at the break and the end of the show. well done and worth every cent..

Price Edward Island was all we could have hoped for. Starting with the amazing 7 mile bridge crossing everything was magical. We enjoyed driving the rolling hills as we went to see the Anne of Green Gables house and museum. The museum is new and does an excellent job of detailing Maud Montgomery's life. The musical Anne and Gilbert was a delight. The venue is small so you really enjoy the show with no distractions. The actors were enthusiastic and really put on a great show.

I was lucky enough to see this utterly delightful musical whilst in Charlottetown for a one-day visit by cruise ship. Anne was exactly as I have imagined from all the books: feisty yet vulnerable; it was a very moving performance. Her voice was exquisite. The whole thing was great fun, with the entire cast acting & singing their hearts out. I loved it! Thank you, all of you, for exceeding my expectations.

This is a great show. The venue is intimate and brings the cast close to the audience, making the experience particularly atmospheric. Anne of Green Gables is of course a fantastic musical but Anne and Gilbert has that special something bigger stage productions sometimes lack - eye contact with the actors and a genuine spark of energy.

We had to see Anne & Gilbert after seeing the Anne of Green Gables musical. Although on a much smaller stage and theatre than Anne, this musical was very well done. I thought the price of the tickets was a bit much as you're paying almost the same amount for the Anne musical which is in a much larger setting. That being said, I'm glad we saw this performance as well. The actors were wonderful! My 11 year old daughter and 65 year old mother enjoyed the performance too!

Enjoyed the matinee with two kids, aged 8 and 10, who were thoroughly engaged the entire performance. Recommend spending the extra money to sit in the centre section. We sat at in row “B”, third from the front, and it was perfect. Theatre in intimate, and seating on quite a steep incline, so views are fairly unobstructed by those in front of you, even for children.

Chairs could do with an upgrade as I found them quite uncomfortable before intermission...

This theatre is about 30 seats wide and 5 rows deep, hence you are at all times close to the stage and performers. The singing and story line are high quality, and you quickly get engaged in the characters. Given the size of the cast and crew, it is hard to see how they can make this financially go in a small theatre of 150 seats. Diana, Anne and Gilbert are perfectly cast. A happy ending, although it seems to come rather quickly in the plot. The keyboard, cello, and violin players are in the left corner near the stage, and if you sit there, you may have a hard time hearing all the dialogue, given the volume of the music. Pick seats in the middle ideally, but on the right side of the seating otherwise. Whole production lasts 2 1/2 hours.
We used the good parking garage a block away, which was super.

About 20 of our family went to see this show. My cousin’s daughter was in the play and did a spectacular job. The story was great, everyone did an amazing job and the music was wonderful. We kept making up songs with the chorus of “you’re island, you’re island, you’re from Prince Edward Island...”

This was a great show with a smaller more intimate feel than Anne. It’s certainly interesting to see the continuation of the story, and should you see Anne, they are nothing alike - well worth it to take in both shows. They can’t really be compared! Only big difference is the size of the theatre. The Guild is a much smaller venue, and the seats are not that comfortable. I would personally only purchase tickets in the middle section, as side sections can be quite limited in view. Lots of people in tears by the end of the show; very heartwarming.
