I just come back from a trip to Quebec with my school: the service was above and beyond, wow! Our tour guide was perfectly bilingual, very knowledgeable, funny, kind, and he could relate so well to teenagers. The hotels and restaurants were excellent. Great activities for the students: touring the beautiful cities of Montreal and Quebec, dog sledding, visit of... More

I have chaperoned two Jumpstreet Tours (NYC & Quebec). It's an amazing company and one that should be used by school groups everywhere! The guides are bilingual, knowledgeable, and great with the students and the adults. The itineraries are chock full of fun! It's important to keep middle schoolers busy, and that's just what they do. The kids love all... More

We as parents were amazed at the ability of our tour guide and this program. Everything was was planned out smoothly, keeping the kids interested and engaged. The tours were well spaced out and long enough to enjoy each place but not too long. The guide was great with the kids and fid his job really well. I would pay... More

We went to Montreal as part of a group. we used Jumpstreet tours. When we originally told them we wished to book, they sent us a tentative schedule and we changed things around to suit ourselves. They provided us with a tourguide who was informative, bilingual, and lots of fun. We did go on the subway, and even during rush... More

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
