I went there today with my husband for the steam room and a 60 minute massage. The spa was very clean, it felt intimate as it was not overcrowded, the staff was very friendly and professional. However, I had the weirdest massage ever. Despite the massage therapist having good pressure and technique, she was wearing medical blue gloves the entire... More

Turning 50 can be a pain unless one gets to spend a half day getting pampered at this spa with best friend/sister and niece/goddaughter. My first time here and i will certainly return. Small but peaceful, exceptionally clean, intimate with excellent care. Massage was so extraordinary and facial was smooth and relaxing. Would recommend anytime. Tks Christina!

Small intimate spa where you are invited to go to hammam before getting your treatments. Enjoyed a great massage! The esthetician then took good care of me! The advanced facial was done expertly with Nelly de Vuyst fantastic products, the body wrap was so relaxing! Staff and manager are very nice, the place is immaculate...I will return for a mother... 3 of us went into Avie Spa after having seen it on TripAdvisor to inquire about availability (though we had no expectation, as we only had time right then for treatments and had no reservation or appointment). The people at Avie Spa made room for all of us! I was in getting a massage within 20 minutes! They were so... More

My husband and I were married this weekend in old Montreal! We treated ourselves and guests to spa treatments over the weekend and everyone had a wonderful experience!!! The staff were so wonderful, and the treatments we received were perfect! The hairdresser did the most beautiful vintage wedding updo and makeup, that truly made my whole look! Thank Avie spa... My daughter booked hammam steam bath and massages for us. The spa is lovely and the location in the Old Port is charming. The staff is very accommodating - even finding an extra female masseuse for me when I let them know that the male one that was booked for me was not acceptable for me. My masseuse, Genevieve Monsette,... More

Was booked in for the gift of a mani/pedi, and was served by Noemie, who is friendly, genuine, and perfectly bilingual. She took care of my poor tired feet and made them pretty, but more importantly helped me repair some of the damage done by a bad nail job elsewhere. I would definitely go again the next time I'm in... More

I went to the Avie Spa with a couple of friends yesterday. I was warmly welcomed and ask to sit in the waiting area until it was my turn for the hammam. While I enoyed the hammam, the 30 mins did pass very quickly and it was more a steam room experience than a traditional hammam. It would be a... More

We bought a Groupon for a double massage and use of the hammam and spent our morning at the spa today. After lots of trouble finding parking, we found ourselves in a clean and welcoming little haven, greeted by the nicest hostess who showed us to our lockers before accompanying us to the baths. The hammam was very cozy. There... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
