Inaugurated in 1876, the Mount Royal Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the highly skilled designer behind New York's Central Park. It is an ideal site for admiring a wide variety of plants and birds or for enjoying outdoor activities. Les amis de la montagne offer a variety of services and activities that provide wonderful opportunities to discover the beauty and wealth of resources that the park has to offer, including the new permanent exhibition at the Maison Smith and interactive terminals and map.

Excellent series of walking trails. Great views although would of liked to have some type of signage or map to help us navigate to better locations. Would of been nice to have an area nearer to the parking with downtown views.

Gorgeous place for a nice walk. The scenery is breathtaking. A lot of photo opportunities if you're into nature. This is a very large place so wear comfortable foot attire and enjoy.

A grand-sized green space quite near to downtown. There are many back-trails through the woods and look-out spots. A good biking place as well on the main path to cover the overall area more rapidly. The small man-made lake area is maybe not so exciting...More

Worth the hike up to see the city from high up. Beautiful in the late fall with all the maple leaves adorning the walkway. Lots of stairs and a little frosty mid November towards the top. Still worth it though!

Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the
tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive

The park is mostly walking trails. You can drive through and there is parking at the lookout point, but is limited.
