My relatives were visiting from the UK and it was great showing them my city. The Basillica is a must visit and we were allowed to take photos. I recommend adding to your tour and include a walk around Old Montreal as this does fall into that Era.

An historic icon in Montreal's history, host of many famous religious events including the funeral of a Father of Confederation, Thomas D'Arcy McGee. The pew he frequented is still identified. An even more worthy site to visit following its complete restoration 15 years ago.

I think it's worth seeing this splendid Church/Cathedral? It is large but has all the beauty of some European impressors..

I never would have known about this place, had it not been for some reviews posted here. I am SO glad I read them. This was one of the most beautiful places; my 18 year old and I walked in, and we were both blown away by the interior. As there was not a service going on, we were allowed... More

We were walking from our hotel to see Montreal's famous Notre Dame Basilica when quite by surprise we came upon St. Patrick's. It s also a Basilica, but we had not heard of it. We entered at a time when the church was empty which gave us a chance to look around. The woodwork throughout the church was remarkable both... More

Walked by the church a few times this past weekend as our hotel was only feet away from it. The architectural design was beautiful and the grounds well maintained.

St Patrick's has an interesting history as the church for the Irish as opposed to the French Catholics in Montréal but it is also gorgeous inside. The type of stained glass windows in most of the church have very subtle colors and are lovely even on a gray day in January. There is a great deal of beautiful wood carving... More

This was only about a 10 minute walk from our hotel and it is so worth stopping inside and taking a look! It is absolutely beautiful, the details inside of the church are stunning! We got there a little after noon and was able to sit in on mass! Highly recommend a visit here!

Similar in a way to St Patrick's in Ny but in a smaller version. It is absolutely a lovely, church. Masses are in English.

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
