I did a long walk with my friend who spent his early years in this substantial neighborhood, one of the most upscale in Montreal. Lots of lovely houses and apartment buildings and a great park. Plus some good food.

Gorgeous little neighborhood just outside the downtown area. Greene avenue and the Victoria village have great shops (Hogg’s Hardware,Zone, James Boutique) . Delicious restaurants with outdoor terraces ( Gentile, Lucille’s, James Perse Café are some good ones)
All the homes and parks are historical and beautiful in this little gem of a town.

Let's begin by saying that it's a gorgeous Park. Well kept, well groomed. We went for the attraction day, free train rides, free bouncy castles and slides, etc. Well organized event, you can tell they try hard. Even without events, it's a wonderful place to walk around or have a picnic. Kids love it, big playground, and a fountain. Parents love it, nice scenery, little getaway right in the middle of a busy neighbourhood. And you can bring your dog too! ;}

This is the English neighborhood of Montreal. Some lovely and dignified residential streets and the pleasant shopping on Sherbrooke. Worth a stroll.

We visited Westmount park to join in the events for the family day (a pity it is only once a year) but we found that the playground next to Sherbrooke Street was also a treat with a lot of facilities for climbing, swinging etc. all made with great creativity. The family day on a Saturday is very special with a lot of special activities for kids, pony riding, train ride, a whole series of inflatables for jumping all for free, but with considerable lines to wait to get to the attraction. Ice cream, sugar floss and other treats are of course for sale. We enjoyed it even though most of the time we had to wait in line.

I ve always enjoyed sitting in this park just enjoying reading a book and watching the ducks in the pond , people go by . Not sure if the ducks are still there but its still a nice green space west of downtown .

Westmount is THE area of wealthy Anglophones of the island of Montreal. Located near the downtown core, it is clean, has nice parks, fine dinning, luxury shops, spas, well-groomed ladies walking around their pure bread dogs, nice cars on the streets and all that jazz. The library next to Westmount park has a green house that you can visit. If you roll up the hills, you will see some very impressive houses. If you are into that stuff, you can pass by. Why not?

Moved here in March and noticed hardly anyone says hello and everyone looks grumpy! I asked in a store why? Well the reason was the cold weather! Excuse me,when you are happy inside you smile! I lived in Beverly Hills, in Paris for over 22 years in Florida near Palm Beach and this is the most unfriendly place I have been in my life! When your that much of a snob it makes that place charmless! The houses are alright, yes big and some old but when your speaking architecture Paris beats all! Well I like my flat here and my grocery store,that is all that is important for me, sleeping comfortably and eating well and I still say hello when needed because I am happy inside! Oh, I forgot the dogs here are friendly! You can always get a smile from man's best friend!
