Popped in for a burger and a couple of beers whilst visiting Montreal. Food was good as was the beer, what was great was that kids are not allowed in which was one of the reasons I went there. I am very much old school and believe kids shouldn't be allowed in bars so this was a big thumbs up.... More

Definitely has a the feel of a typical feel of a Irish pub and restaurant. The entertainment was quite special, and also reminded of a traditional Irish pub. The Staff at Old Dublin bar we're very friendly and helpful, they we're attentive, and our glasses we're never empty. It was a great night out, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything it... More

Ok, a bit of a funky Irish Pub- decor is defiantly Irish but they played French music and have a huge curry menu. Great beer selection, the chicken curry was fantastic as was the burger. Arlene, our server, was amazing. So kind and made us feel like we were hanging at home with friends. We had our kids with us... More

We had read about the old Dublin in the "Moon" book on Montreal and Quebec. It does NOT live up to its review. First of all, if you are looking for it, it has moved slightly. The Old Dublin was knocked down 3 years ago to make a high rise apartment building. The new Old Dublin pub is 100 feet... More

We were in a hurry. Let the staff know. Within 45 minutes we had eaten and paid and were out the door. The food was good, the service was good and the pricing seemed fair. I ate lamb curry and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered spicy, but truth be told it could have been a touch spicier. Others in our... More

...... not entirely my idea of a "Dublin Pub" but the selection of beers was excellent as was the food. Perhaps if it was busier and had Irish music playing that would help with the atmosphere. Both my wife & I had burgers which were scrumptious. The portions were large enough for the heartiest appetite. Just too bad the open... More

Wanted to have lunch at the Old Dublin "Pub" but was turned away because we had our kids with us. Maybe they should call themselves a bar to be more accurate. Went to McKibbins on Bishop instead who gladly served a delicious lunch to our family...including our kids.

Long story short, this USED to be an awesome pub to hang, eat greasy goodies, drink great beer and hear tin whistle and violin jams.A small often crowded warm comforting place to be...now only a bigger shadow of it's former self. But you can still have a good time there If you try!

Re established after being displaced by high rise. Typical Irish pub.Beer selection is anemic. Curry and sag tasty. Be careful of Hot, can be very hot! No appetizers. Lots of TV with good sight lines. Nothing outstanding.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
