We were walking around the city and came upon this science centre. It's a good place to visit as there is a shopping mall beside it selling art and crafts, cllothing and other stuff made by the local Canadians. Good place to look for unique gifts! This science center is great for children to gain a better knowledge of science.... More

Seriously, this is a place for kids and they will let you know that when you go in, particularly when you are there childless. I went with a slightly older crowd and while the CSI exhibit was a lot of fun (and less child oriented than the rest of it), kids will get the most out of it. Good option... More

i went to the museum last month and it has been about a year and a half since i have gone. they have an exhibition on the human body. it is interactive and fun for all ages. their csi exhibit opened and we did it. there are 3 different scenarios. it is hands on, entertaining and fun. however, it is... Montreal has several museums and centers to visit. The science center is really great and features great IMAX movies, but I do not consider it a must do. The Biodome or Planetarium may be more interesting for some tourists. However if you are short on time the Science Center is a good option as it is pretty close to Old... More

IMAX movies are very interesting. Nice way to spend a weekend. Very good location. The place is massive so it helps to don't feel so crowd

There were three sections to the museum that were included in the base admission and were interesting to a pre-teen - Fabrik, Human and a "typical" science center exhibit hall. We were amazed by the Fabrik section and could have spent all day there. There were 6 challenges (drop a ball from height and prevent it from flashing, move a... More

Permanent exhibits weren't that interesting, many weren't working. We paid a lot for the CSI exhibit, it was fun but way too much expense. Skip it, head out to the planetarium and other exhibits in the Olympic Park.

Lots of very hands on. Different rooms for different ages. Our 5 year old boy loved it. Even some things like video games. Very creative areas. Older kids might be a bit bored. Good choice is limited.

This was the third time we brought the children. The exhibits had changed and the latest additions were amazing. The children were well occupied for hours! Bring bottled water and snacks as it can get expensive to pick some up. Lots of room for strollers. Great for all ages of children as there is a variety of things to do.

Came here with our 18 month old. There was definitely enough to entertain him even though the attraction would best suit older children. There were a few large school groups when we arrived which was a bit of a shame as they took over the place making it difficult to try some of the activities. Certainly very hands on and... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
