We have passed by with my wife this August, spending 9 days in Canada, as we saw some beautiful items in the shop window. The lady (I believe the owner or manager) in the shop were very kind, very professional, had very good suggestions but were not pushy, and the pieces we bought are just wonderful. I ended up with... As strange as it may sound, I enjoy shopping with my wife for clothing. Le Vaisseau D'Or is absolutely our favorite boutique either in the US or Canada. It is such a pleasure to visit on our trips to Montreal.

We dropped into this shop during a stroll around Old Montreal. What a find! The staff was encouraging but not pushy and the selection in the store was excellent - especially given that it;s just a charming little shop. My wife got a full outfit in black and white and looks amazing - we both can't wait until she gets... More

We all are familiar with the adage that "good things come in small packages". This small, charming boutique is brimming with gorgeous, fashion-forward clothing (many by Montreal designers) and top-of-the-line, Lise Charmel lingerie. Even better than their merchandise is their personable, patient and kind staff. Be sure to leave room in your luggage for all the things you never dreamt... More

This was my first personal shopping experience. I will deffinately be going back next time I am in Montreal. They knew everything about my body type, everything they had in my size and how to wear it to get them pat use out of it.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
