You can drive to the edge of the canyon, enjoy the scenery, then go for a short hike either up or down the river. The trails see a fair amount of use, including cross country skiing in winter. It's very close to town - maybe a 10 minute drive, and well worth seeing.

The fellow at our Rv park said it was nice. That is like saying super man is strong. This is an amazingly beautiful place that alone would be worth the trip to the Yukon! Make sure you stop at the overlook and walk down to the wooden bridge. The water is a gorgeous emerald green. Don't miss this spot.

Miles Canyon is a must-visit for those in Whitehorse. This is one of the most narrow points of the Yukon River, and the constriction causes the rapid flow of water in this area. There are a few view points to see Miles Canyon. The first one is where google map brings you to, at Miles Canyon Road. Note that there... More

I visited this spot in April and the beauty was striking...it must be even more so in summer. You need to be able to hike a bit, through gorgeous wooded trails, to reach the bridge for best viewing, but not too far. A great way to spend a couple of hours (or less...could be done in an hour). A Whitehorse... More

This a great network for hiking, biking and sometimes skiing. The Whitehorse Trails app is available for downloading and will give you your exact GPS location on the trail system if you're really prone to getting lost (there is a cost though) or maps are available at the visitor's centre downtown. For visitors to the area who can't walk as... More

Beautiful spot for a quick walk or a longer hike. Bring a picnic lunch if you have the time. There is a suspension bridge to take you over to the other side and head down to the right hand side for some beautiful photo opportunities. If you have young children, be prepared to hold their hands or carry them. Steep... More

This place makes for a nice picnic and small hike type of day.. there are lots of trails well marked with trail maps so you can't get lost. With the water rushing through the Canyon it makes for a nice place to have a picnic. The suspension bridge is mostly wooden and metal wires and swings nicely. Some people in... More
