I was surprised to find that the Villa is actually indoors, so although the exhibits and information boards are well presented, it's only a hour long visit at best. The film only lasted about 8 minutes but it was informative although it stopped at the beginning of the excavation work; some further details on the excavation would have been useful.... More

I first visited Lullingstone with Junior School. Become a member of English Heritage (look around on line for discount codes) and been a few times, more recently with one of the children. Really great place to visit, a large site and has an amazing story how this was found by trying to place a fence in the ground and hitting... More

Spent about 1 hour here, visiting the villa, down a long single track road, and then a really small car park, where most people were not moving - just sitting in their cars - which was annoying as no free spaces. Villa is in a large building, and good for English Heritage members, though we went as we were in... More

Enjoyed learning about Roman life in Britain. You can see exposed excavations, as well as exhibits of artifacts that were found there, even a skeleton of a young man. Allow about an hour to see everything. Small but well stocked gift shop.

Trash-bin lookalike on the outside, treasure in the inside... There is a little video on the white screen in the exhibition itself where they found the ruin of a Roman Villa.

went not knowing what to expect, it is very informative you get a real feel for what life was like back then, I would guess its a great history trip for a school, we found it a very nice way to spend a couple of hours, after looking around inside, there is a nice walk up the road to the... More

As members of English Heritage the access to the Villa and car park are free although entry costs are reasonable. The site is well worth a visit and you can learn a lot about the villa and Roman domestic life in the area.

It's not a big venue nor exhibition but it is in stunning scenery - tight roads, I'm sure I lost the hubcap here - but it's v interesting, and worth watching the movie to orientate yourself - that shows over the ruins and pj points areas as it plays - and the busts, artefacts etc are pretty cool. If you... More

We visited the Roman villa today and we were happily surprised by the site and the detailed signs with a variety of information about food, education, games, bath... during the Roman times. It was very interesting to discover how the life was in the Roman villa and all the items which were displayed gave us more understanding.

The villa itself, as you can see from the pictures, is not terribly exciting. The history surrounding the preserved foundation is interesting. People who enjoy religious history, especially Christian, will find this site of particular interest. The site takes about an hour or so to visit, so it's not an all day affair. The surrounding area is very picturesque.
