Te Mata are supposed to be one of, if not the best winery within Hawkes Bay, certainly according to Hugh Johnson. AWESOME wines, IF you have the pockets as they're not cheap, Sally is lovely and friendly if u get to meet her. The Coleraine is a VERY special wine that knocks spots off the french and Aussie comparables, so buy as much as you can keep well. This was our second wine stop of the day in the Hawkes Bay area. The girl who waited on us for our tasting was the winemaker's daughter, and a treasure trove of information about the wine, local area, and culture. Excellent wines, delightful setting. Would highly recommend.

We've been here before but now this time with kids. A quick taste of our favourites and bought several varieties. We like the place due to location and memories- the wine is also very good

What a lovely place, and what a great people. They won't only spend all the time explaining everything there is to know about their wine, but will also give you enough (great) tips in the region to fill your weekend. Great experience!
