Dairy event
Jan 2020 • Business
Went to this arena for the Swiss expo dairy event last weekend. Fantastic set up and the show itself was so well organised.

We decided to eat at La Fondue one of the stalls at the show. The waiter who served us was the elderly one of the waiters (senior) he explained what things were and then said that being as he thought one of each for 4 of us would be too much he said one helping between would be enough. So we went with that when he produced the bill he had charged for 4 full portions and he didn’t even care That he charged us that amount. We were totally ripped off. He was even smirking at us when we passed later on the day. It did put a damper on the day. As for show it was brilliant

The World of Hans Zimmer
Nov 2019
Went to the Geneva Arena to see The World of Hans Zimmer, which was incredible (!), and thought the venue was just okay. The tiered seating was fine, and we could see the stage and everything, but the seats were pretty uncomfortable--especially for a three-hour show. The bathroom situation also left something to be desired--as in more bathrooms. Luckily, the dudes were okay sharing some of their stalls, so the women just formed a line at the men's bathroom as well.

Good location though, I guess, seeing as the bus goes right there, and if you're self-driving, there's ample (paid) parking in the onsite parking garage.

Great Location
Sep 2019
The close proximity to the train station is excellent and even better is the bus stop that is just in front of entrance. We watched the Laver Cup tennis there and loved the fan zone and the practice courts. However, the match venue was soo hot, the air conditioner did not work most of the time. Our seats were at the top and the television screens were poorly positioned as the lights obscured the view.

Autoshow
Mar 2019
Dazzling array of cars arranged in ground and also upstairs exhibition halls. Quite extensive from one side of the highway and then a bridge to cross to the other side. But very long lines to the toilets.

Like putting lipstick on a pig as far as Laver Cup tennis venue
Sep 2019 • Friends
The tennis arena has inadequate AC, intolerably few and inconveniently located (outside ticket control and down narrow stairs) restrooms, the huge outer convention center is uninviting and poorly configured for sports events; food areas often had few if any seating areas so people literally ate while sitting on the floor (!). No extra public transport when event ended daily so thousands stranded as they await the only option available- the regular #5 city bus! Horrific! Thankfully, we stayed at the adjacent Ibis Hotel but watched in horror as the huge throngs of fans exiting waited for hours, sometimes in the rain, for buses. Taxis were few and were often Trapped in the gridlock of the inadequate access path provided by Palexpo for cars.
We attend tennis tournaments all over the world including all the majors- this venue is an embarrassment that should never be used for tennis. For example, compare it with the O2 arena of London which has perfect configuration, great AC and food courts, huge number of extra subway trains added when events disperse, and you thereupon have my case against Palexpo (which we nicknamed Perplexo) proved

Again- the buses: How can a modern civic authority like Geneva allow such a second tier facility to represent itself and bring down the repute of an otherwise smart and efficient city?? At LEAST add dozens and dozens of extra busses when the event is ended! The O2 brings in a solid line of dozens of subways at such time to the arena station as the even ends, with a hundred friendly local police helping direct everyone to the loading platforms. I saw not one policeman out front in the gridlock of cars and fans at Perplexo.

Get a grip, Geneva and get it together. .....Thankfully, Laver Cup Moves next year to Boston.

Laver Cup 2019
Sep 2019
This is an old and tired facility not equipped to handle sporting events. Not enough restrooms and poor access and location to the few that are available, AC did not work properly, lighting issues that delayed matches, etc.

Laver Cup 2019
Sep 2019
What a great location and beautiful complex. We attended the 2019 Laver Cup in Geneva Switzerland and so spent many hours over the course of three days at Palexpo. The food was OK, seats are OK, staff are helpful. After day one it became evident that the lineups for washrooms were an issue and the following day they had resolved the issue and directed people to an alternate washroom site to decrease wait times.

Laver Cup 2019
Sep 2019
I attend all 3 days of the Laver Cup here and thought it was a fantastic venue! Sure the bathroom lines can be long but what do you expect with 15,000+ people all trying to go to the bathroom at the same time? The seating was great and you actually had a little bit of a legroom. The merchandise stands were great and the food choices were plentiful. The whole fan zone was a great experience for those who had time to kill in between sessions. I thought the event was put together extremely well, organized, workers were friendly. Best weekend ever!!!!!

does not work as a sporting venue
Sep 2019
Attended Laver Cup 2019, they get credit for putting a lot of lipstick on a pig but.... A/C is not adequate, long lines for the few available restrooms, the hospitality suites did not open on time, lighting issues delayed matches, etc.

might be ok for a small convention but I would recommend any place over the Palexpo for a major sporting event.

Not very friendly
Aug 2019
I attended a 2-week conference. There were very few places to sit. I can't say more because I don't know what was arranged by the conference organizers or by Palexpo.
