This review is for the campground opposite the White Lake Provincial Park. It is a privately owned campground; full facilites include full hookup to basic camping. Very rustic, peaceful and next to White Lake. The lake is quite small compared to the Shuswap but it is very warm, great for swimming, fishing, canoeing, waterskiing etc. My husband and I went there with our two dogs and friends with their campers and dogs for a week and had a lovely restful time. Arnie, the owner, would come round every evening, making sure everything was good, and sold us firewood if we needed it. This is the second time we have been there.

Love this spot. Great for an afternoon picnic and lots of fun to watch the goldfish off the little dock. Bring your canoe or boat to cruise this wonderful little lake. Great fishing I am told by the fishermen heading out in their little belly boats.

We went paddleboarding and played frisbee in the water. So calm compared to the Shuswap Lake. Minimal boats and people. Water was warm and clear. Not super rocky either. Would return.

Not long after we took the exit from the Trans Canada Hwy to the White lake Rd, we saw some warning signs "Please Slow Down, Babies Crossing" with a picture of baby turtle on both side of the road. It seemed the breeding periode of the Western Painted Turtle was in May-June. This painted turtle is the only native turtle pond left in BC and therefore it is very important to keep them for the biodiversity. We stopped at the White lake community park and walked to the lake. There is a lake watching platform with some information boards of the birds or animals that you might see in the white lake area. There was a small area protected with round 50cm high block stones and that was the turtle habitat, probably the eggs were still not open yet.

I would love to give this great little campground a five star review, its truly very beautiful. Our issue is the extreme noise, partying all night a kids screaming at the top of their lungs, literally. There is a park monitor on site, but she is only there to pick up the fees for about a half an hour in the evening.
We had a drunken male come to our campsite, he was abusive, pouring beer on our site, swearing, calling us retarded, it went on. If they are going to charge there should be a monitor so these things wouldn’t happen.

The only thing you get is pit toilets, no water, no real set spots for camping. The boat launch is in the middle of the camping so getting boats in and out with campers and tents everywhere can be tricky. As this is also the beach area and folks like to hang out on the dock. Boaters also come for day trips but there is nowhere to park anymore because the parking area is now used for camping ( more $$$ ) From what I saw the rules are lax. A beautiful place but not worth it anymore.

This is a amazing beautiful and peaceful place to go in the middle of the busy lakes area in BC. The place is hidden but you can rent houses with docks in the lake, there is restaurants and nature very close to you. I found this place in 2013 and I go back every year. On summer time out of holidays the place is a paradise only for you!
