Not a great deal to see but an interesting location at the harbour entrance. Visit at high tide and ships will pass close by.

Anyone interested in history, will enjoy a visit to this fort ,surrounding area lovely, especially a visit in June, when the surrounding beach is festooned with a carpet of flowers. This fort is in remarkable condition.and well supported by ' friends of Shoreham Beach ' and they have days when representatives will show you around no fill in all the history of... More

Great for a couple of hours. Right on the beach, ruins to explore. Local history - don't miss it. Volunteers have done a great job of uncovering and restoring it. Car park has a small charge but the fort is free - we visited on a normal day, not an open day.

Well worth a visit, open on alternate Sundays and the winter guided tour starts at 2pm. We unfortunately turned up at 1pm because we were on summer time!!! nevertheless the man spent an amazing amount of time with us explaining about their ambitious plans for the future. We will definitely go back at the correct time for a guided tour.

Seated at the end of the beach walk this is a great place to wonder too and rest whilst you sit and contemplate the view.

Living fairly close to the fort we decided to take a look when they had an open day and exhibition. This is not a place to spend all day but it certainty makes an interesting couple of hours. On the day we visited there was an exhibition of photos of what is called 'bungalow town', sounds boring, but believe me... More

Enough of the fort is visible, with some explanation panels, to see how the land lay. Good for views along the coast and the beaches. Well worth visiting on a special event day: we went on the Heritage weekend- an informative display about the whole area, a talk and a film. Many local people there. Obviously it means a lot... Great place to launch a paddle board with controlled waves and nice launch slope. Featured in a novel by James...made it all very realistic.

REALLY worth having a look - you can walk along the beach or drive and park at the car park next to the Fort. Often they have interesting displays or they may be doing some excavation work.
