Absolutely brilliant swimming spot because it’s so safe due to the lagoon like nature. Downside is there aren’t waves most of the time if that’s your thing. The beach can also be really small (and busy) at high tide as it’s popular. But am absolutely amazing swimming spot! You pay a few euros for parking or can walk down from the village. There are two restaurants overlooking the beach.

Was a bit poopy (geddit), sand was dark brown and smelled funny. Hotel had too many puns for my liking. 2 out of 5

We’d been recommended this beach because the water remains shallow at high tide and is ideal for younger children.
After a poor sat nav experience in getting there (driving along a footpath and scraping the borrowed car) we were ready for a relaxing day.
There are two restaurants overlooking the beach. We chose the slightly better Rocamor and were pleased with the choice.
Almost entirely Spanish people on the beach. Very friendly and no hawkers selling tat.

A wonderful beach cove. 4 euros to park all day. Gets busy but still enough room. Shallow and able to walk quite far as tide is low. Inflatables used & no issues with other users. 2 Great restaurants with lovely food. Kiosk for ice cream, pizzas, fries etc. An enjoyable day had.

We visited from nearby Celorio by walking along the coast path E9. You can also cycle. It's a great beach and the walk there is fantastic, especially the views from the cliffs, especially the ruined chapel along the coast path which are breathtaking. The cafés and restaurants are a little upmarket for a beachfront, we enjoyed a drink at the hotel, and then visited some mobile units selling chips and fried fast food. The entire village fills up with cars so I would advise walking or cycling there if you can. You can also take the small local bus which runs from Llanes to all the local beaches every half hour or so.

Not far from Llanes you will find the turnoff to Playa de Poo. The beach is a bit tricky as you have to find it in mid tide to really enjoy the beach. The tides play a unique role here, turning the beach from a large placid place to a small but beautiful almost jungle like place to explore.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the Spanish north! Very fine sand, no waves, warmer water -- perfect for little kids, paddle boarding, or just sunbathing. There's a trail to the top of the cliff with a beautiful lookout point. Two restaurants overlooking the beach. We brought picnic food with us, so did not try the restaurants, but probably nice. In mid-September -- quite empty, not too many people at all. If you travel in September, bring a sweater! Hotel parking is 3 Euros. Forget about the name, just visit!!!

We came to Llanes on a day trip from Ribadesella and found the beautiful Poo beach. Not a very nice name but it really is beautiful. There is a lovely cliff walk where you get a fabulous view of the castle. There are many bars and restaurants in Llanes. Ideal for a day out.
