Just like the sailors of old, you’d recognize this Venetian island by the picturesque pastel-colored houses and buildings visible from its shores. Burano also is famous for its intimate lace, an art its people want to keep alive.

It's my second visit to Venice but never have I before been to Burano and I absolutely think it's a must do for any visit to this part of the world. I love Venice but Burano, believe it or not, is even more tranquil and relaxed. The beautiful multi coloured houses are exquisite. I'd highly recommend getting off of the... More

Lovely Pastel coloured houses surround Burano. The locals say they know who lives where by the colour of the house i.e. Roberto lives in the yellow house geovanni lives in the purple house. Stunning buildings also nice quirky shops s selling traditional lace items and nice little pasta shops if you go on winter you must try the local hot... More

Burano is a colorful & unique island. The island is less crowded than the main island of Venice. The architecture of the buildings is a bit different than the buildings in old town, which also makes a different atmosphere. Better to go to this place in the morning because it takes around 45 mins to reach Burano from the main... More

We took a trip out to this island using our day ticket for the Vaparretto. The journey was about an hour each way and only added to the enjoyment of this gorgeous place. The weather was fabulous and we spent some time just sitting on the quayside watching the fishermen bring in their catches. The plethora of little coloured houses... More

Burano is so beautiful! We could not stop taking pictures. We used a day pass on the vaporetto to visit here and Murano in one day and it was one of our favourite days on our vacation. Catch the #12 Vaporetto to get there. We went fairly early in the morning (around 9:30) and there was few people there -... More

If you are visiting Venice, you must visit Burano; it is spectacular. From the still, glassy lagoon to the vibrantly painted houses, the island is not to be missed. The photo opportunities are vast - the colours reflected in the canals - and the availability of good food is verging on the excessive. The best way to visit is on... More

We didn't get long enough on this pretty colourful island, as we were on an organised trip. My advice is use a day pass for the vaporetti so that you can stay as long as you like!

Don't miss a chance to hop a boat and visit Burano during your trip to Venice. This place was so full of color and charm that I instantly fell in love <3

Wonderful ,colourful houses and good quality lace and linen items plus the usual tourist souvenirs However be warned The food at three restaurants we visited was well below to standard expected for the high prices paid Seafood dishes in particular were no better than the local fish & chip shop Staff attitudes reflected the fact that we were there only...
