My husband and i visited this wonderful museum in late February. It is a large museum , so wear comfortable shoes and in the busier and much hotter summer days , take some water. It is very well laid out with lots of interesting exhibits...More

We have spent half a day and 52€ for two to get to the museum from Lisbon during our city trip (you can get combo tickets at the Lisbon train stations). As a train enthusiast, I must say that there are many train themed museums...More

Interesting museum for lots of steam locomotives , also from other different countries, Portuguese Diesel and Electro Locomotives , the royal train of Portugal as ell as some passenger train carriages.

The highlights are the locomotives in the roundhouse and the royal train. Very easy to get there by train; it's visible from the station. However it says on their own website "leave Entroncamento platform Station, cross the line (S), to the white water depots". In...More

An excellent museum. A large and broad collection well laid out. Informative and very helpful staff. Extremely easy to access from Lisbon by train as it's adjacent to Encronmento station with access via bridge at end of platform. Well priced at 5 euro. The highlights...More

A museum where we can feel the steam trains as well as the small models - there was an exhibit by train models with almost 100 meter of line! The kids enjoyed and the parents also!

A beautifully presented and very interesting collection; the friendly staff deserves an extra mention. Highlights: an impressive collection of steam locs, and the historical royal and presidential trains. Sincerely recommended.
