This was our reason for going to Sutherland - we found it very interesting. The tour was informative and learning about and walking amongst all the telescopes set up by various countries was fascinating.

Enjoyed both day and evening tours--which are quite different since you visit the observatories during the day and do star-gazing at night. Recommend both! Had two different guides and both were excellent.

I did not do the evening tour as we wanted to go into SALT and see the actual telescope. If you go in the evening there are scientists working there so visitors cannot enter SALT. I would suggest you do the afternoon tour... More
