This zoo was good when you could use cars and would be good if you could use them now. Sadly they have used covid to change the rules so you have to use golf carts (500b for 2 hours) or the bus. I used the bus on a school trip and it's fun so we decided on that.
It should be noted that if this change is for covid it is nonsense. The car is much more secure covid wise, the buses no social distancing and the carts werent cleaned on handover.
This change might work theoretically but when it started raining we were dumped at a 7/11 without warning or information. It is wet season, it rains every day, but there is no plan. 30 minutes later I found the pr office on the complex we were dumped in and asked why we were stood there. Rain. Why cant we use cars? Laugh, no answer. (Real answer - short term profits).
So the 3 options were to hire a cart with no sides to drive on wet mountainous roads and get wet, rely on a bus that would dump us if the black clouds opened or go home. We walked about 1km downhill to the car parks (no signposts where the car parks are) and got wet again.
This zoo is designed for cars. If the website had advised of the changes we wouldn't have gone as it's obvious it wont work. They arent advertised as they know it's obvious. We wont be going back until cars are allowed.

I am not going again on principle.
We do not charge a Thais more to enter London Zoo, Berlin Zoo, New York Zoo.
Yet we travel all this way to the land of smile, yes because they are overcharging us, and have to pay B 450, while a Thai pays B 100.
This is how the Thai keep the secret of what they pay – they show the Thai prices in Thai, which they know most foreigners, cannot read.
Boycott the place. Show them that racism, and overcharging by deception does not pay.

We had a lovely day out at the zoo with the kids.
We rented an electric golf cart for around US$10 for two hours. My kids loved the cart.
The kids really loved feeding the animals.
There needs to be an English speaking information desk for when you arrive to tell you where to rent a cart and how to get around. It is a bit confusing at first.
I suggest first taking the tour bus around the zoo. It costs around US$1 per persons and takes 15 mins. This way, you know how everything works and where everything is before heading off on a cart.

Immediately plan more time to visit this place. The territory is very large. The entrance ticket is inexpensive, only 350 baht per adult, 200 per child.
You will need to pay another 500 baht to rent a golf cart. Plus, as collateral, a document that we didn’t have. They didn't even take 100 euros as deposit. Therefore, I had to walk with small children 🙈 of course it was hard for them, they whined and this spoiled the impression a little. We didn’t have time to see everything and didn’t get to the white tigers. Giraffes in the evening did not eat grass for 30 baht, but they did not return the money to us for it))
There is no way to leave after 18, there are no taxis, so take care of transport in advance. We were lucky that there were Russians on Magina, and they gave us a lift to civilization. It is best to come by your own car or bike.
Overall the zoo is very cool 👍 there are a lot of animals. What I liked most was the bird pavilion and the Australia zone.
There are places where you can eat, there’s even a 7eleven on the way, but it all closes at 5 p.m.!
We didn’t expect this and were left hungry and without transport, don’t repeat our mistakes! )))

First of all you have to pay: as a foreigner much more than a Thai person. Why? You have to pay for the golf chart 500,— + 50,— Baht for 2 hours. You need this golf chart, because the open zoo is huge. Not so many animals to see , but a lot of nature. You have to pay to feed the different animals.. There is no restaurant in this zoo, only different snack and coffee places. The most animals look really old, like retired .. only the white rhinos have a baby and are younger.. we left this zoo with very mixed impressions..

This zoo has recently blown up thanks to Moo Deng (the baby hippo) and I think it shows. Overall, the experience we had at the zoo was sensational. We rented a golf cart and drove through the park, seeing tigers, elephants, giraffes, the lot. You can feed SO many of the animals, even rhinos! The line to see Moo Deng was HUGE in the morning, and I genuinely mean huge. Wait a couple hours, let it pass until the afternoon, and you won’t have to wait for a second. The park did seem incredibly understaffed. Bins were full and there was a lot of construction work going on around the park. Again, I think this is due to the recent influx of customers thanks to TikToks favourite hippo. Also, get to the zoo early, between 8-10 am. The queue to get in when we were leaving (at around 2:30 pm) was 2 miles long, no exaggeration. This was such a fun day and cheap too!

A couple of tips before you go!
Bring a water bottle, lots of cash, and sunscreen. they only accept cash at the zoo throughout. ALSO, try to make a deal with a driver before you go to pick you up at a certain time. No grabs or bolts will actually take you they just cancel.
Ended up taking an expensive taxi because we were stranded.
Moo Deng was so cute but the rest of the animals in the zoo looked kind of sad.
A very expensive day trip.

Becareful what they charege you at the entrance, and the golf cart hire. I was charged 80 Baht to bring my car in,yet the website clearly states no charge for vehicles. I was charged an extra 50 Baht for the golf cart also. Not big money, but i hate being scammed.

We have been to the zoo nine times in the past few years. After living in Thailand for 36 year and having an expat resident card I was charged an inflated tourist price this July. Entrance is THB 200 for Thai people but THB 350 for me plus 80 for the car. Very disappointed after spending half my life in Thailand.

Thailand’s Green Mountain Zoo is definitely an unforgettable place! There is a rich variety of animals here, from graceful elephants to marvelous tropical birds, to satisfy the curiosity of any animal lover. The park has a beautiful environment and is intoxicating with the embrace of nature. In addition to watching animals, there are also interactive experiences that allow visitors to have a deeper understanding of the ecology and habits of animals. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and provide interesting explanations, making the tour more educational. In addition, the park's facilities are complete and suitable for the whole family to participate. Overall, Thailand's Green Mountain Zoo leaves unforgettable and beautiful memories for people and is an attraction with great entertainment value and educational significance.

Are there any real trekking trails around Khao Kheow? For example a hike to the peak or a 2hr+ walk around the nature reserve with viewpoints? Looking for hike options closer to BKK or Pattaya.

If I were to rent a car with driver to visit the zoo. Does we need to pay entrance fee for the driver?
Written 8 October 2019
If you wanna go inside the zoo with this car, then, yes, u have to buy the ticket for the driver also. But for thai people it will be cheaper then for foreigners. Other option is to rent a golf car inside the zoo, but it will be definitely more expensive, than pay a tocket for a driver. And the main thing: go buy tickets by yourself, dont let the driver do that. Otherwise, the driver can name you the higher price and get commission from the zoo.

if i enter this zoo with personal car(taxi) instead of golf cart,
how much is it cost?
is it free for vehicle except adult&child fee?
Written 9 June 2019
Sorry! We just used the cart, so I don't know if they cost you when using your own car including taxis.

How long would you spend there? how does it compare to the sriacha tiger zoo?
Written 14 April 2019
in my opinion around 2-3 hours would be sufficient, if you are planning to walk through the zoo then it's different as that may take more time. we took a golf cart so you'll have to book for your required duration accordingly.
