I visited here in early July. I have seen a lot of castles in my time, and this place just did not do it for me. That is in spite of the fact that it is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Artifacts from the...More

My visit to the castle was awesome! You go back 700 years in time of Dutch history! The guided tour is very informative. There's must to see and do for young and old. I have used the Elvira boat (veerdienst Amsterdam) to the castle, it...More

This was a very good day. The castle is very, very hands-on and interactive. For example, children and adults can dress in period-relevant clothing and have a [safe] sword fight. There were three girls dressed as princesses trying to stand for a photo. A worker...More

Great example of old days where castles were to protect and as business. Seeing the hundreds of years old furniture and paintings was amazing. The tour was great and gets you to rooms you otherwise won't see. A must see.

That's what my 6-year old daughter said! Her and my 3 year old had lots of fun. We first took the general tour. That was pushing my kids' patience as they weren't allowed to touch anything and they didn't have too much interest in what...More

Fab bit of medieval nonsense but the kids there loved it. To be fair its pretty well done but it was all rebuilt in the 1920's and without original plans or drawings much of it is guesswork...like Carcassonne. That said its great to look at...More

The queue can get pretty long. The castle opens only at 12 am. We were there at 11:45, and there were already 10-15 people waiting, and after us quite few more built-up fast before the castle opening. We had the museum card... More

I don't know about the tours, not joined them (and not sure if you really need one). Anyway, in the castle there are only few English information, most are in Dutch. Not a very difficult story, but get prepared to explain... More
