What an absolute delight to see. Beautiful. An easy flat walk until you get to the end. Worth every long step! Can’t wait to go again when it’s a summers day.

Lovely walk along Cow Green Reservoir to this beautiful little waterfall. Plenty of lovely wild flowers, including blue gentian, to see.

Every hour of our walk along the Teesdale Way just got better and better! From Middleton in Teesdale, the big unexpected highlights of the walk were the spectacular views at High Cup Nick and fun scrambling around Cauldron Snout.

Approaching from this direction, following the Pennine Way from High Force, we were surprised that the last couple of kms before you reach Cauldron Snout are an unexpected scramble! The path disappears in places for a good couple of kilometers and you have to make your own way across large boulders/rocks. There is usually a choice of routes and you can see where others have passed before you as the rocks are more worn. So that was a fun surprise! The route is pretty flat here, but its just across a bit of a boulder field - it looked like maybe there had been large landslides and covered the path? Anyway, my hiking pole made this much easier for me.

After this unexpected scrambling! We seemed to arrive all of a sudden at the amazing view that is Cauldron Snout! Simply phenomenal views. There is this perfect rock outcrop at the bottom of the waterfall, that is just perfect for sitting on and soaking up the amazing views. Also for posing for great photos and selfies! I didn't want to leave and continue our walk...

But we did and then had such great fun scrambling up the rocks beside the waterfall! Hands and knees on a few places to reach the high stone ledges. I was glad we were going up as I think going down would have been trickier. But it was such a fun climb to get to the top, near to Cow Green Reservoir. Great views all the way and then amazing views from the top too.

Not suitable for elderly or young children, as there really isn't a path as such, definitely some scrambling/rock climbing involved! But for anyone relatively agile, then definitely do this!

We will walk the Pennine Way, from start to finish, at some point and we will definitely be re-walking this stage - mostly due to the amazing views at High Cup Nick and the fun scrambling we had at picturesque Cauldron Snout!

It was a long walk from the car park to the waterfall on a very wet, windy and cold day but it really was a must. If you are looking tk see anything beautiful you will certainly find it here.

Amazing place to visit and we walked all the way to low force from cow green with the dog , beware the cows and avoid if you have a dog with you , the farmers tend to be not so bothered about people walking this route which is a nice change , but amazing scenery

What we all enjoyed about this waterfall is that there aren’t any benches, no walk ways, no signs, no tourist stuff - the bare rocks carved from the force of water flowing through the mountains!

Great views all round, very peaceful
Place and of course the power Of water !

No parking close by, no toilets, no
Coffee shop, just nature !
