A very enjoyable tour, lasting nearly an hour. Atmospheric, with lighting provided by the paraffin lamps we carried. Interesting history of being a large air raid shelter in WW2, including a consecrated church. The guide was excellent and gave an entertaining commentary. We had the opportunity to experience total darkness and the tour is engaging for all ages.

Excellent tour guide, very easy to get a ticket and get involved. It was surprisingly detailed and interesting; they give you parifin lamps to use during the tour which really adds to the atmosphere. Would strongly recommend checking it out!

Just happened upon this place and I had a great time! It was amazing to learn the history of the caves, and I enjoyed talking with the tour guide, Jeff :)

Arrived at 1pm on Easter Sunday, car park was full but managed to squeeze the car in, booked onto the 1:40pm tour and made use of the cafe (sausage sandwich for £2, bowl of chips £2 - all served piping hot not log after ordering). There is a display of WW2 items and pre WW stuff as well and a... More

I had no idea there were 20 miles of tunnels under Chiselhurst - a great little find - inexpensive and a fantastic tour guide who made the visit very exciting. Highly recommended if your in the area and want to fill a few hours. Soo glad I went. Nice cafe on site too.

Fond memories of visiting with my father in the 1960's, then with my children when they were little and again now that they are teenagers. The timeless stories that are told by the guides haven't changed much like the air temperature which remains at a constant 10 Celsius, neither has that wonderful smell of mustiness mixed with parrafin from the... We visited on a Saturday morning and had the first tour, just the two of us and a very helpful and knowledgeable guide. He showed us around this fascinating underground network of tunnels.
