This shine has some very unusual features (check out the orthodox chapel upstairs)making it well worth a visit, with beautifully maintained gardens and a great tea room this an wonderful place to spend a couple of hours whether you are religious or not.

My wife and I found the Shrine Church to Our Lady of Walsingham by accident more than 40 years ago. We took a train ride on the light railway from Wells to Walsingham. When we reached Walsingham we appeared to be in "the middle of nowhere." However we saw houses to our left and went that way and reached the... More

I would take my children to visit along with a neighbor when I lived in England. A most beautiful and holy place. The best kept secret in all of England! Not the hustle and bustle of other sites . Surprisingly beautiful... Regenerates and refreshes the soul...

I am not a particularly religious person but am nominally Christian. It is worth reading up on the history of the shrine before your visit so you have some concept of how it all came about. Absorb the peace and silence, just sit and contemplate.

The Shrine is a beacon on hope for many pilgrims, it offers a number of healing ministries and an opportunity to be still and reflective. Allow yourself lots of time to visit the Shrine and explore the grounds. Parking can be difficult but there is a car park not too far from the Shrine.

Went there on Deepavali. The compound is so tranquil n peaceful. It is really a blessing to be able to visit this shrine. The entire drive was about 3hours from Enfield.

I love going to Walsingham as it's overall atmosphere is calm, serene and pretty, just like this church. I always light a candle in this church and it's a great place to come and reflect.

We have been visiting Walsingham for more than 40 years, and well remember the early days when it was nigh impossible to get a good cup of tea in the village. Then there was the Sue Ryder shop which served good tea and excellent home made cakes. Now, the Norton Room has provided a much larger and comfortable sitting area,... More
