Prehistoric cave
May 2021
An interesting old cave with a great story from a local guide. The problem related to the place itself is the poorly marked place where the cave is located, as well as the lack of content from the tourist center to the entrance to the cave itself.

Interesting rather small cave

Interesting cave, but it is not as marvellous as it is advertised by the nice and helpful local guide. Anyway, it worth a visit.

Small, but nice

Nice place, for many years archeologists and paleontologists from Belgrade University worked on this founding place. However, there is no information in English at all, the artifacts found are in the National Museum in Arandjelovac and cannot be seen in the cave (although there are several figures of people that lived there 35-50000 years ago and cave lion and bear).

Combined with beautiful environment and other sightseeing in the region (Arandjelovac, Bukovička Banja, Oplenac) it is worth a visit.

Interesting cave

The cave is 160 meters long and for sure interesting and fun to visit. The quide (very knowledgeable) spoke only Russian and Serbian. Fortunately we speak and understand Russian so there was no language barrier. The tour took 1 hour but was very informative and we all learned a lot about this cave aswell neanderthalers and prehistoric animals. It was definitely worthwhile visiting this cave.

Great!

What a wonderful place, great story to tell. A small cave, nicely fitted with different exhibits of prehistoric animals and Neandertal people. A lady working there told us a great story about this cave in a really authentic way, with the vocabulary so easy for children to understand and still delivering valuable data and putting the data in right context. I recommend Risovaca Cave.

Small cave with a great tour guide

A small cave, nicely fitted with different exhibits of prehistoric animals and Neandertal people. According to the guide it's the most southern location on which they've found Neandertal remains. You can't visit the cave without the guide but it's definitely worth waiting for him at the entrance.

What a wonderful place, great story to tell. With scarce resources, they recreated mythical place. A lady working there told us a great story about this cave in a really authentic way, with the vocabulary so easy for children to understand and still delivering valuable data and putting the data in right context. We learned a lot about people lived here and unique animals used to inhabit the cave. My children remembered almost all heard and learned during the visit to Risovaca Cave.
