Decided to visit this park and it was the best decision of my long weekend. What a fabulous visitor attraction. The gardens are beautiful, even with a considerable amount of work happening to create a new arboretum area. We knew if would be a good time for the rhodies and azalea's and weren't disappointed. The sculptures are perfectly placed and... More

Revisited. Much more landscaping and planting work completed & in progress. Great to see the earlier plantings maturing and the original areas growing stronger. Paths & handrails are well maintained, but there are quite a lot of steps on some of the routes. 'Swift' sculpture very impressive and well placed - felt like being next to a Lancaster Bomber swooshing... More

This is one of the nicest gardens I've ever visited. Don't try and pushchair, use a carrier for your little ones. I found this garden inspiring. The whole place has clearly been well thought out, the views are so pretty. The sculptures add to the garden rather than feel imposed, especially the water features. The tea room is excellent, wonderful... More

We have visited this garden since its inception several years ago and it just gets better every year. Spring is the best time with much colour from the Magnolias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas along with the signature Blue Mecanopsis and other planting. The sculpture is a bonus providing points of interest around the garden which has now expanded with new paths... More

This is an amazing garden at this time of year ...every one interested in gardens should visit. This was not our first visit but we noticed that garden had been extended with new banks of planting and a new arboretum is being developed and is opening shortly. The whole garden and the sculptures make this a wondrous place to visit.... More

Met at the new ticket office by really friendly lady, informed us that the new facilities are dog friendly, which is important to us. First port of call the new tea room. very good selection of savouries, sandwiches and cakes. Found our choice to be very nice and reasonably priced. Now ready for the walk around the garden. We pride... More

Lovely day out which will change as the seasons progress so worth further visits. Lovely tea room with local produce. There is a lot of work in progress so the gardens will be even more interesting.

The gardens this year were the best so far as it's becoming more mature. The owners have expanded the garden and the planting is of a high quality.

An amazing use of land in the Yorkshire dales, this garden is unusual and enchanting. It is open for periods in spring and autumn when at its best. Consultation of the best route is sensible before traveling and a car is needed. Car parking is provided at the top of the site near the cafe, toilets and plant centre. The... More
