This is usually a non guided bicycle tour although you could do it on foot and guided as well. It offers three beaches, a one hour each way bike ride at a comfortable pace, a mangrove swamp that has a short passage to a beach with pelicans and blue footed boobies, and of course, the Wall of Tears with a... It's really ok not to forget the pain of the prisoners and guards. But it's not ok to make this a touristic excursion that you have to pay.

It is a very noteworthy attraction, if only to witness the cruelty that man can do unto his fellow man, whether he is a prisoner or not.

The road to the Wall of Tears from Puerto Vilamil is a tad longer than we expected, so we were very glad we had rented bicycles instead of walking. We even managed to find a tortoise relaxing near a stream on the way there, definitely a good way to spend a couple of hours if you have the time

Nice beach biking. Some parts are not easy (due to sands) but it is worth the bike tour. You can climb to the top and have an excellent view. On the way, you should see Playa Amor where you will see hundreds of Iguanas.

The route to the wall is full of surprises and should definitely not be missed. Hire a bike from one of the shops in town and cycle along the sandy path towards Iguana Crossing and keep going. Along the way there are lots of places to stop and marvel at nature. We saw loads of land iguanas, giant tortoises, and... More
