What a beautiful place, despite being 2-3 hours south of San Cristobal you need to come to this place if you are a photographer or videographer. For you Drone lovers, this is a place to fly and take high aerial pictures. You will need to pay a price but negotiate it down to 500 pesos for two lakes and you... More

The lakes are beautiful: each one is a different shade of green or blue. Each one has a distinct look. There are boats on some of the lakes; food and crafts at others. Worth a visit.

Pretty lakes in some decent lacandon jungle. We just passed through and drove around a little, although I wish we would have camped here a few days.

There is so much beauty here, the color of the water of the lakes has many shades of turquoise , and when you see that surrounded by a deep forest you'll immediately feel the power of nature all around you

We really enjoyed our trip along the Lagunos de Montebello. The colours of each lake is different, size and depth of the lakes matter there. Lago Pojo is really nice: we took the boat tour to a little island in the centre of the lake where they have an ample collection of orchids of the region.

I definitely recommend visiting the lagunas de Montebello. The paddle ride cost 100 pesos the short trip to the island or 150 pesos the longer trip to see the cenote. I recommend the short trip, the cenote you can't go in, and this way you have more time to swim at the island. The water at the island is Cristal... More

Most people visit this national park during a long day trip from San Cristóbal. It's worth the effort, as you pass the ceramic village of Amatenango and the Maya ruins of Chinkultic and see a nice part of Chiapas. The national park itself is not spectacular, but the lakes are nice and it's a very green area, close to the... More

I think that this place is an amazing natural destination, the view is magnificent and the climate great too. The bad part is that there is little information available for tourists and several fees to pay... Once you arrive to the National Park there is an Official Government booth $1.7 USD per person (it includes nothing just the permission to... More

The place is just next to Guatemala and around 3 hours drive from San Cristobal de las casas. Excellent place to enjoy your vaccations. The place has over 50 lakes and some of them are worth visiting. You can also do kayaking and visit some islands in the middle of lakes. You can also visit the artisans market on the... More

These are beautiful lakes very close to Guatemala. The best part of the tour for me was to take the wooden rafts around the lakes and swim. We were offered a shorter ride or a longer one that allows for the swim and a walk at the end of the lake that has great views over another cenote-like lake. Take... More
