On our way back from lunch at Mangonui and decided to try Taupo Bay. It had been a while since we had been and the surf that time was not there. Not so this time. The North side of the bay was easy, but drive down the south road to the far end and the quality was very good. Stayed... More

We enjoyed 3 lovely days at Taupo Bay in Northland (not to be confused with Lake Taupo). The beach, just a short walk from the camp is stunning with golden sand, surf one day, calm the next. The camp grounds are well grassed and the amenities nice and clean. We thought the fees quite expensive at $43 a night at... More

The views coming into Taupo were just beautiful. The lake was smooth and peaceful looking. Miles and miles of it.

Taupo bay holiday park was definitely the best campsite we used on our Tauranga to Cape Reinga road trip . Clean , safe and relaxed .

Amazing Beach with waters safer than many, with awesome waves. Our two camp kids are loving the surf at 9. Taupo Bay Holiday Park is busy in peak season and loved by many for a reason. Great facilities with a friendly and helpful team. Hot chips and burgers always good at the camp takeaways.

Great place to visit and enjoy the wonderful beach. Great motor camp there that has tent sites and cabins. Xmas time usually books out

It a must see place in New Zealand. We visited this place as we are residents of Auckland. Must stay for 2-3 days. Book any hotel near Lake Taupo. Lots of attractions

Huge expanse of water and difficult to avoid if you are sightseeing in North Island. Lots of friendly cafes to take refuge in when you are overloaded with sightseeing. Don't expect to see it all in a day

I was lucky enough to spend 6 weeks living in Taupo on a student placement from the UK. I never wanted to leave. Every day one can stand on the lake front and gaze across the clear blue water with hints of steam rising through the stones at your feet, across to the snow capped mountains on the other side...
