Had a really wonderful time here, it was a lovely afternoon and the best part was we had the whole place to ourselves! Couldn't recommend this highly enough, really lovely. Just a note, it isn't a whole day out, as it is quite small! :)

Having last came here to see the drifts of snowdrops, this visit was all about the profusion of bluebells in bloom. What makes this garden special is the way it allows you to wander through the sensitively managed woodland, with lovely vistas and pathways at every turn. The kitchen garden is also a delight, with its lovingly espaliered fruit trees... More

This was wonderful and peaceful experience, we were the only two people visiting at the time. It was so lovely to be able to just wander about in the woods, looking at all the colours of the trees and the wildflowers as well as the masses of bluebells.

A hidden gem - the camellias, magnolias and rhodedendrons giving a blaze of colour with bluebells carpeting a wide swathe. Thoroughly recommend a quiet walk round

The gardens are gorgeous - just the right amount of wild - and there are some fantastically exotic trees and shrubs, creating a very pretty canopy over a carpet of bluebells. One word of caution; I assume dogs are allowed, since there are no signs, and it is basically a wood, but my senior dog was electrocuted on the nose... More

Do not come here if your idea of a garden is bedding plants and manicured lawns! This is a subtly managed woodland, with glorious unusual shrubs and trees, magical in spring with snowdrops and hellebores, then magnolias and other flowering trees, through to summer with rampant roses. The paths meander... there are some steep slopes.... and part of the joy... More

This is a lovely unspoilt wooded garden, left for nature to take it's course to a large extend. Entry is payable by way of an honesty box and this means there is no-one around to answer any questions. There was no map of the woodland, meaning we found ourselves missing some sections or visiting others again. Some discreteet signage would... More
