I took my elderly father to the museum which he enjoyed as he was in the Raf during world war 2.I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would ! Helpful volunteers on hand and refreshments. Interesting items donated by local people and people who lived on the base. You do have to be fairly agile as most of... More

In association with 8th in the East the control tower had an organised meander through the former airfield site. The control tower was open and had various very knowledgable volunteers on hand throughout the afternoon. Very interesting exhibits covering both USAAF and RAF history and fantastic anecdotes from memories of the volunteers. Well worth a visit!!

An amazing relic from the old RAF Martlesham now surrounded by housing, very interesting information from a time when Douglas Barder was based here flying Hurricanes and later the USAF flying P51 Mustang and latterly jets.

always lots of information and helpful volunteers when I go. would recommend maybe a childrens colouring area or quiz or information directed for children as my youngest gets a bit bored when I drag her along to have a look. love the open days they have with the planes flying over and the old cars in the summer
