About
The museum houses the materials recovered from the archaeological excavations of the necropoleis around Populonia, carried out during the first half of the 20th century. It also showcases a rather diverse body of objects recovered out-of-context from both the sea and land around Baratti.

Compact and interesting museum. Not much interactive work, but some real highlights with tomb recreations and finds. Would recommend audio guide as labels are solely in Italian, though story boards are also in English.
Café was closed which was a disappointment

We took the train from Bologna to visit the Etruscan museum. It is something of a walk from the train station, but certainly do-able. The museum itself is very well laid out with good explanations of objects in English but no English guide book when we visited. The outside "tour" could have better signage, but don't miss the Etruscan tombs at the far end of the excavated area. Local eateries close for "la sosta" in mid-afternoon, so keep this in mind if you plan to eat lunch in Marzabotto. A good experience for anyone interested in Etruscan Italy.

A great exhibition of the Etruscan remains that have been discovered in the area. The layout of the museum is well organized and the historical information is clear and concise. I love the Etruscan people and it was so great to see some of their amazing works in person. A must visit for all history buffs!

A very interesting museum over the history of the area and the etruscan settlemments closeby. The artefacts and the very easy to understand explanations makes this a very good museum and well worth the stop

with the purchase for the tower-ticket you can upgrade by a small amount the entrance for the museum which you don't need more than 10 - 25 minutes (depending how intense you wanna read yourself through the details/descriptions & how much time you wanna spend for checking all the stuff. worth the small amount of money for the upgrade.
