The first thing to note was the enthusiasm of the owner for the whole setup before we went in, lots of advice. Once into the butterfly forest the high humidity was striking but then you realise you are surrounded by both small and really large butterflies that take absolutely no notice of you. I would reckon an hour or so... More

After my daughter spontaneously announced she wanted to visit a butterfly house one Sunday morning we googled the nearest to us and came across North Somerset butterfly house and what a pleasant surprise. The butterfly house is hidden at the back of a conservatory show yard but well sign posted from the road. The place is relatively small but the... More

Although this review may sound like a hitchhikers guide to post-pubescent coiffeurie it is in fact a nod to a rather more serene and splendid butterfly farm nestled between Bristol & Weston Super Mare. After several weeks of damp weekends and stunning days being stuck in the office one was brought slightly closer to El Clima Mediterranean albeit from an... More

We have visited the Butterfly House twice and both times it has been absolutely fantastic. There are lots of butterflies and you can also see caterpillars and chrysalises. We were even allowed to meet a caterpillar under the tutelage of the man of in charge. It's great fun, and as well as butterflies there are also terrapins to feed and... More

Having visited the North Somerset bird of prey centre (right next door) we popped in to visit the butterfly centre. Nice to watch so many brightly coloured butterflies flitting about. A challenge to photograph well. Keep your eyes open for the stick insects. My partner and I enjoyed the visit.

We brought 20 excited Rainbow Guides and the girls loved it. Pete's easy going way with the girls was perfect, the girls got to see caterpillars and chrysalis as well as the huge numbers of brightly coloured butterflies, terrapins and fish in the pond. We wilo definately be back.

We took our little girl who is 18 months and she and us absolutely loved it. There was lots of beautiful butterflies to look at and the little pond houses fish and Terrapins. The staff were very informative and happy to help.

Loads of butterflies with a superbly knowledgeable chap running things. Absolutely worth a visit or two as species change through the year. June to August is hatching time. It's small and hot so prepare to sweat! With toddlers or young kids, your visit I'd likely to be as brief as their attention spans...for the more patient, sit quietly on the... More
