Well worth a visit to this little museum, having been born & raised in Bushey, although not a resident for the last 44 years, there was a lot of memorabilia which brought back happy memories of my childhood. The stewards were all very friendly & knowledgeable

A magnificent display of Bushey memorabilia plus outstanding paintings by Sir Hubert Herkomer RA, Lucy Kemp-Welch RA whose horse paintings make Hobbs look like an amateur, and many others

If you are in the Watford area, Bushey Museum is a must. It is full of local history that also covers the Von Herkomer School of Art. The Museum has origenal paintings of many artists including Von Herkomer, Lucy Kemp Welsh and others.

There are some great works of art by Lucy Kemp Welch at this gallery. Her paintings of horses are beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable.

Situated just off the main road this has about everything you would want of a local museum Lots of information and historical artefacts.A small action devoted to actor and late local resident,A.E.Matthews.There is even a playbill signed by him and Getald Du Maurier.Definately worth an hour of your time.

We took my husbands army friend to visit after Christmas and he was most impressed by the contents of the museum. Especially the paintings of horses

I popped in to the museum on Saturday morning and as always the stewards were very welcoming. There was an artist in residence painting,a talented young woman various other exhibitions and finished off by great tea and homemade cakes. This museum is a real asset to the village and it has a real sense of the community. Always a pleasure... More

My grandchildren aged 4 and 7 spent a delightful afternoon at Bushey Museum. The exhibits are child friendly and the museum is small enough not to be intimidating for them. There many things to gain their interest, an old school room, they just did not believe it, unfortunately I remember it all to well.

Everything you want to know about the village of Bushey can probably be found right here in this one building. There is a not unnatural leaning towards the artists Herkomer and Kemp-Welch. Give yourself plenty of time and/or come back time after time. For reasons beyond the control of the volunteers who run this place, the one drawback is the... More

What a gem. My first visit and definitely not my last. This place has interesting local history artefacts on the ground floor, from old archaeological finds to interesting wartime paraphernalia and gives a comprehensive history of the area. Upstairs is a wonderful collection of paintings from local celebrated artists who were local to the area. There was an art school... More
