This is a pretty side of town with a great board walk. The shops are good with an eatery down below. Very market and nearby the nurseries look well stocked with plants of all kinds. The mangroves are protected and the walkway looks pretty new....More

A lovely walk around a volcanic lake. Some is a bit rough but some is a lovely boardwalk. The basin is popular with water skiiers in the summer too so you can watch them if you're interested. Very nice walk.

The Hobson Bay walk way tool us just 2 hours to complete at an easy pace. We had great weather and the views were magnificent. The raised wooden walkways were wide & great for everyone. Lots of work gone into making these family friendly.

Nice loop walk which can be started at either meadowbank or orakei station. Good for runners too . The basin always has water.

Beautiful location of water, water skiing, 🐶 dogs playing, with Tui singing and bush to walk though! It's our family's favourite place to take our dog off lead. Highly recommended for a lively walk with your dog in the middle of the city!

Stunning, peaceful and an opportunity to meet the locals. Great coffee stops with 5 mins of the Basin. The Benson Road Deli or the Shore Road Cafe.

A lovely walk round the basin - I read an article where it said it was suitable for strollers but with the amount of steps involved I would caution those who possibly have a double stroller. Good walk with peaceful and lovely surroundings

Very peaceful and beautiful basin, highly recommended to have a nice walk around the basin, or walk the dog. You can also do some water activities if you have the required items

A lovely peaceful spot down the hill from the hustle and bustle of Newmarket. The kids loved watching the trains come along 'through the water'.
