A lot of people drive here from Calgary, just to stop at the Upper Lake trailhead parking, and take in the views. In the winter, the sun is at your back, so the views to the north have gorgeous light. The pit toilets are clean...More

While staying at Kananaskis Country, we took a side trip to the lake! It was a beautiful lake that was quiet.

This is a good place to stop and stretch your legs. We walked around the lake toward the dam thing...not sure what it's called. We took photos of the lake and the driftwood on the rocks. It was a bit windy when we were there,...More

The Kananaskis lakes are beautiful - especially the upper kananaskis Lake. The waters are calm and have a great breeze blowing even on a hot day. Would definitely recommend hiking in the area and spending major part of your day at the Kananaskis Lake when...More

We visited in late September. Terrific scenery, autumn foliage, hiking and site-seeing. Recommend for families!

We were driving around the general area and came upon this lake area. It is simply stunning and well worth a visit even if you are not going to use the lake facilities itself. Just wandering around and taking in the amazing scenery is enough.

It's a bit of a drive to get to the lake but the trip is worth it. There are several free parking lots that had many places available on the late summer afternoon during our visit. I can imagine on a July or August weekend...More

Totally wonderful place. Mountains, lakes, river, animals and very few people. What's not to like. Walking around this lake was like paradise. Will go back

This is a good hike for everyone. You can choose how much of it you feel you can manage and then go for it! There is a very large parking lot to accomodate many vehicles. We chose to hike up to Rawson Lake from the...More

I would not recommend it as only the top foot of water is warm ish and close to the shore, even after a very hot summer diving into this lake could be fatal as cold water body shock is very likely,
