Victoria Park is presently a Homeless Encampment. There are no Christmas Lights displays this year due to vandalism. It is presently not an appropriate place to take minors or small children.

Nice park but trying to find a parking near it is a nightmare. Lots of people inside the park. Park is nice, has water body, playing area and washrooms.

I was excited to find this park close to my hotel to go for a walk. It was lovely until I came across the tent city. It was a nice place to walk but once I saw that I was sad and no longer enjoyed my walk. City - can you please help these folks.

Beautiful and inviting grounds with a great expanse of land for so many activities. The bridges and stream were lovely. However, coming across a huge tent city filled with homeless people was not disconcerting. I know it's not their fault for being there since they have no other choice but I did feel somewhat uncomfortable, as if I was the intruder.

City of Kitchener need to be ashamed of themselves. They need to find a solution for the homeless people but letting them move their tents in our city park is not one of them. I don't feel safe . I seen many people high out of their minds walking around and one even face planted in the grass and medical attention arrived. NOT A PLACE FOR CHILDREN. I also feel very concerned for Otis and Ophelia and the other wildlife. I heard rumours of people seeing them throwing stuff in the water. The person that told me called the city and they told that person there was other complaints of this. What happened to our family park we pay taxes for and where children can play without witnessing this??????

This has been my favourite park for years. We would love to go see the swans and enjoy the lovely green space. Sadly, as of July 2022, the city has allowed it to become completely overrun with a homeless encampment and local residents do not feel safe/ are being harassed while at the park. I can no longer recommend what used to be a lovely park.

Not a great experience. One must go themselves and see for themselves! There are low lives junkies sitting in corner taking drugs, and riding cycles,.! Yelling loudly, we are on drugs
Families with young kids should avoid going here.
There were homeless camps too right in centre of the park.
Not a good experience at all

It was peaceful and serene around 6 pm when most folks were taking a break to have dinner, we toured around the park and enjoyed the sunshine shimmering on the water and all the green surrounding it.
The Swans were there too if you look at the picture you will see them at the far right in the water in background.
We sat on the park bench and daydreamed as tge world went by. We then found the home we purchased in Waterloo that same day so we can come here as often as we like.

Victoria Park is a special gem in the heart of our city. The city does an excellent job maintaining flower beds and walking surfaces. The defacing of Queen Victoria's statue is a real concern. I appreciate and understand the heart ache that memories of the past hold for groups of people, but this action is not solving those problems. The park provides a mecca of activities for young and old. Please let us keep it as a wonderful spot to visit.

The City of Kitchener is ignoring and promoting criminal vandalism. They have decided their VIRTUE-SIGNALING is more important to their image than enforcing the RULE OF LAW. Canada would not be the GREAT country it is today if not for the historic leaders of the past. We need to honour the memories of all of these leaders in their totality. Sad little people, with sad little issues, and sad little lives, strive to deconstruct our actual history. There is significantly MORE to this country's history than one single issue.

Hi All
I just called the city and they say "absolutely" you can use your own personal kayaks in the little lake at Victoria park :)
The actual Kayak and canoe rentals are NOT done by the City of Kitchener but a separate sub contractor...
Just in case anyone else wanted to know :)
Can you bbq with portable bbqs

There are several parking lots around the park. I don't think there is a set time, however; to be sure, call City of Kitchener, Parks and Recreation @ 519-741-2345

Is there parking near, but not in, the park?

There is a small lot near the public wShrooms and another small lot near the turn in the road going toward Waterloo on the same side of the park. Otherwise people seem to park on the streets at the back of the park on the other side of the wee lake.
