Had never been to this one before, so glad we went and we will be back for sure. A bit off the beaten path but worth the drive. Amazing wines very well priced and amazing service. They have an observatory that we didn't go up into but we will on our next trip. A must visit.

Very cozy boutique winery in a historic barn. Special events include star gazing with their very powerful telescope. Around the corner from Balls Falls conservation area. Very nice room to rent for special events

We were dropping by some wineries for a sampling. We enjoyed their red and white wines. Debbie did a good job of telling us about their wines and the history of the winery.

I have been to Calamus many times. The owner, and staff always pleasant and informative. I've also planned 2 group visits to this winery. The first some indoor stats and tasting, the second was a walk through the vineyard, sipping wine and learning more about the winery origins. Great variety of wine - something to please everyone!

We were in the area and decided to visit this out of the way winery. We sampled several varieties of red and white wines. The person who served us had good knowledge of the wines and vineyard. Several were very good and we left with several bottles of red and white including a bottle of their special reserve red.

Calamus is one of our favourite Niagara Bench wineries. We discovered Calamus many years ago as we began a new season of visitng wineries, new and old ( and keeping up with the openings of new wineries in the area continues to be a challenge, by the way!) Owners Derek and Pat are like good neighbours. They are truly friendly,... More

It was a warm sunny day, so we decided to take a drive through a conservation area named Balls Falls, and discovered a beautiful old stone building with a wonderful selection of wines. The staff welcomed us warmly and we took our time tasting both white and red wines. In the end we purchased four different types of wine, including... More

I had purchased a wine tasting in a silent auction for four. We ended up just using it a few weeks ago. The tasting was okay. But there were limitations with some wines. The young lady didn't rinse our glasses of offer to replace them with clean ones. So we truly didn't taste the true flavour of the wine after... More

Calamus Estate Winery is a bit off the beaten path, yet in a patch of woods and vineyards that offer up some of the Niagara region's best wines. Calamus grows their own grapes. The passion for a process that requires green harvesting, lots of TLC, and patience with some unpredictably brutal winters shows in the tasting room. Derek and the... More
