Lovely area

This is near shops, nice pubs and interesting old buildings to see. Nice area to walk around too. Pub lunch was nice

The courthouse has been there for a while and has a few historical plaques outside detailing a lot of the town's history. We only visited the outside because we ended up parking nearby, but it was a lucky choice, as it made out short visit to the city more interesting.

This Court House was built in 1842. Attached to it is the oldest jail in Ontario if not in Canada still in use. Go to the administration office and ask if you can get a little tour. The staff is very friendly and they could probably help and get a lawyer to volunteer to take you around. It is a... More

I guess how one rates the Brockville Court House depends on the reason that they are visiting this buidling... lol... If you are there because of a crime / divorce / small claims court - then you would probably not view this building in a positive manner. We just saw the Court House from outside. It is a grand old classical building with a wonderfully eccentric statue of Justice on the top (a reproduction of the original). We heard there is a jail round the back, in the same building but without a connecting door, so that prisoners have to be brought round to the front in... More
