Not to be missed. A year round source of entertainment. A big part of our community with dedicated people keeping it going.

A night out, dinner, then a show. Who could ask for more! We have enjoyed our evening each time we have been there. What is not to love with a glass of wine in hand and being entertained at the same time! I love how they have redone the theater, very nice.

Bancroft Village Playhouse is a beautiful venue for performances. The volunteers put a lot of effort into creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience - such a variety of shows to choose from, something for everyone! Thanks for keeping this gem going, hats off to supporting Hospice North Hastings!

'We went to see Freddy Vette and the Flames and it was a great night. We saw them a few years ago and we enjoyed them just as much. The theatre is a great venue, very comfortable and intimate and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. You can purchase beverages in the lobby and even take them with you into the theatre. Very civilized. We recommend going. We are hoping our schedules will allow us to return to see 'Elvis' in a few weeks.

We were very impressed with the improvements to the Village Playhouse. In the last few years, it had started looking shabby and there was a noticeable decrease in the number and quality of the local amateur productions. All the renovations look amazing, sat on the deck overlooking downtown Bancroft for a pre-show glass of wine.

Another reviewer talked about "3x overpriced", we paid $30 for a professional show (Anne Marie Scheffler in "MILF Life Crisis", it was well done and hilarious), left the show laughing and invigorated. Last year we paid $22 for community theatre ("You're a Good Man Charlie Brown", it was not well done or fun), left the show regretting having gone. Totally worth the extra eight bucks.

There are also a lot more shows and a bigger variety than there used to be - at least a dozen over the summer rather than one or two. Would like to see a few more family oriented shows, but bringing the kids to see the magician, and will do date night again for a couple of the August shows.

We have been enjoying shows at this Theatre for just over 20yrs. we always attended the shows in the summer when we were at the cottage. but now it seems 3X overpriced for half the experience. we are very frequent Toronto theatre Patrons and Bancroft had a unique community feel we loved, it seems to have lost any class or character it once had. it is by no means comparable physically to Belleville or say Stirling. two semi close other venues. hopefully they can recapture some of that "hometown" feel it used to have, and loose the fake feeling and lack of class it just seems to have now. Bancroft had something special, Im not sure if its the New management or Not but they seriously need someone who knows what they are doing to help. if you want to feel like your being "worked" for your money then I say give it a try. if your looking for a really good community theatre, take a 40min drive south to Stirling festival Theatre, I also dont remember any Adult shows in the last 20 yrs but apparently that is the image Bancroft wants to present to the cottage families with Adult content on their advertising. Truly is a loss for the cottage area we love.

This is an exceptional venue for special events, intimate concerts and Summer Theater. There is not a bad seat in the house. A real gem and one of the only opportunities for evening entertainment in the Bancroft Area.

Plays are limited to 2 to 4 actors and very funny. I do enjoy the local cultural slant to the entire experience.

Always great shows a the Village Playhouse. Comfortable seating and great ambiance. We saw Les Stroud last winter and were blown away by how good the show was. Small room made it very intimate and sound was excellent. Always impressed at the quality of the shows presented.
The volunteers really do a professional job. Kudos
