cat ferry life is limited
Dec 2019
good service but will not have people driving to Bar Harbor to take it versus Portland. They ignored all the negative comments from people who were using the ferry on a regular basis from Portland.Should listen to old saying "customer is always right" Used service from Portland many times but will not drive the additional time to Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor to Yarmouth Cat ferry
May 2019
Unfortunately the "CAT" died in 2019.
Hopefully, the "CAT" will come back to life in 2020.
For 2020, Bar Harbor to Yarmouth will be much less convenient than Portland to Yarmouth.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We have continued to update and communicate our progress with regard to our sailing season for The CAT. All of our customers who were holding bookings on the season were offered full refunds on their reservations. Passengers were also offered alternate passage, where available, between Saint John and Digby on MV Fundy Rose. Bay Ferries Limited deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers and impacts on our partners and the hospitality industry. We will continue to make every effort to support the Southwest Nova tourism industry, and Nova Scotia tourism industry, in any way possible. We are very pleased to be sailing between Yarmouth, NS and Bar Harbor, ME. We look forward to welcoming you onboard in 2020.

The CAT
Oct 2019 • Friends
We took the CAT to Yarmouth Nova Scotia on Labor day weekend in Sept 2018. We really enjoyed the ride. The ride on the CAT took a lot longer because of the debris sucked up in the jets. We were to get in around early evening. While aboard the staff helped get a hotel because we arrived 3 hours late. The motorcycles were aloud of first but the crew held us back and everyone else went through first. Then they finally let us go through customs.
We want to do the trip again on the CAT, but it will be a 5 hour drive for us to get to Bar Harbor, Maine

Fingers crossed for sail date early October
Sep 2019
We have been planning a trip to Nova Scotia for the first time in early October, 2019. Wondering if completion is in sight and a sailing date has been established leaving from Bar Harbor?

Thank you for your interest in sailing with us. We believe and still hope that we can sail The CAT from Bar Harbor this season and we will be delighted to welcome you onboard at that time. We will continue to update our website with information as to our progress and intended sail dates once we have confirmed sailing for the 2019 season. We do have our sister ship the Fundy Rose travelling between Saint John, NB and Digby, NS. This route adds a bit more driving time but it is a beautiful sail across the Bay of Fundy. If you would like to book on the Fundy Rose please call our terminal crew at 1-506-649-7777.

We sat ina great resturant looking the boat the tax payers of NS ' own' . Whata scandle it sits in NS unable to opearate. The company should face penalties and give the money they got to operate back as they have not fulfilled their obligations.

Due to continued construction and related approval processes at the Bar Harbor ferry terminal, it is anticipated that the earliest date on which any service could commence is in the late summer range. Efforts are being made to accelerate the start date; but, in the meantime, all customers holding bookings on the season will be offered full refunds on their reservations and no new reservations will be accepted until there is more definitive timing. Passengers will be offered alternate passage, where available, between Saint John and Digby on MV Fundy Rose. The company will communicate directly with its customers on these changes. Bay Ferries Limited deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers and impacts on our partners and the hospitality industry. We will continue to make every effort to support the Southwest Nova tourism industry, and Nova Scotia tourism industry, in any way possible.

Too bad
Aug 2019 • Family
We wanted to experience The Cat during our travel to, or from Nova Scotia but unfortunately it was not running because of renovations issues in Bar Harbor.
We inquired locally in Yarmouth and were informed that the delays are out of the hands of the Ferry company's hands. It seems the issues have more to do with the organization in Bar Harbor, Maine.
I'm hoping to catch The Cat on our next travels.

Vacation ruined
Jul 2019 • Couples
Bay ferry Limited (The Cat) Just plan messed up!! Should have stay going to Portland until Bar Harbor was ready. But the bad part is just two weeks before our trip - telling us they will not be running. Shame on them. Anybody who knows anything about construction know how long it will take - but you let people plan trips knowing you would not make those dates.
This was done with intent!!

We have been doing our very best to communicate with our customers about the move to Bar Harbor and the anticipated sailing dates. Advisories were issued beginning on February 25th, June 7th, June 21st and July 15th. “The of the complexity of the work we, along with many partners, are doing it is always possible that this start date could change.” We are always sorry to impact our customers and we apologize for the inconvenience. We do offer all of our travelers a full refund and rebooking on our sister ship the Fundy Rose travelling between Saint John, NB and Digby, NS. This route adds a bit more driving time but it is a beautiful sail across the Bay of Fundy and Digby, NS is a one-hour drive to Yarmouth, NS. If you would like to rebook on the Fundy Rose please call our terminal crew at 1-902-742-6800.

Clean and organized. Boarding with our car was easy and the deck crew was helpful. The travel deck had plenty of seating wether you wanted to sleep or socialize. I would definately take this on a regular basis.

Great way to travel to NS
Aug 2018 • Couples
We liked every moment of the crossing. Very comfortable experience, and a significant shortcut from driving north and east around Maine.
Great seats make the crossing go fast. The best part was seating in the back balcony and look at the Westernly sunset.
Food is greasy and overpriced. We were lucky that we brought our own snacks.
We would like to do it again soon.
