I watched a YouTube documentary by Part Time Explorer that highlighted The “circus ship inferno”. It’s about a fire that happened right in Yarmouth during the 60s. The museum is featured heavily and has some artifacts from the fire.

The director (Gary) of the museum is a great guy with a wealth of info regarding early fire “trucks”.

It’s $5 to get in and the have a small gift shop and take donations as well.

Both the museum and the documentary are well worth your time. Free parking on Main st

My dad and I have a slight obsession with firetrucks. We spent a good hour or more at this museum and had a great time. Very informative, and so many antique trucks. We were in heaven!

This is a hidden gem and the displays and vehicles here are unmatched. What an amazing piece of history and this place is not overly promoted. We spent a lot of time touring around this building and taking pictures. The kids loved it and so did I!

Located in what looks like an old firehall, right on the edge of downtown and 1 block up from the waterfront. We had no difficulty finding parking for our F350.

Really enjoyed the pictures and old fire fighting equipment.

Presumably this is a venue that is geared toward younger visitors, but the only staff member we met was completely uninterested in talking with our daughter. She was quite friendly and approachable to me. There isn't much to do in Yarmouth, so if you need to spend a day there, it;s a decent way to kill an hour.

We had no intention of visiting the Firefighters' Museum until I read the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The advisors were right. This museum is great. My husband and I both enjoyed seeing all the old fire apparatus and looking at all the pictures. The museum really piqued my interest and I am going to look for a book on the history of fire fighting.

There was a very reasonable fee -- $4.00 ($3.00 for seniors). We spent a little over an hour exploring the two floors of the museum.

Excellent and fascinating museum with an amazing collection of antique fire trucks and apparatus from back in the days of hand-drawn wagons and steam pumps of the 1800's. Lots of rare firefighting equipment examples. Kids are allowed to climb on one of the trucks from the 1930's. I did as well :-)

As a firefighter, I was very impressed with the quality of the displays and amount of historical information from the Yarmouth area, as well as other parts of Nova scotia and the Maritimes. There are badges and items on display from all over Europe as well!

This museum has a great display of old engines that were used by firefighters in Nova Scotia. There are also a number of other items such as old fire hats, alarms and bells, etc. Very interesting. Also a number of photographs of local fires and firefighters. Reasonable admission fees, $8 for three of us.

My husband is a firefighter so this was a real highlight of our trip to Yarmouth. So interesting to see all the old fire trucks. Great find and cheap too.
